GOD BLESS OUR PACK-RATS

Here you will find true family treasures. I've always known I was descended from a long line of pack-rats. At first I attributed the trait to Parents and Grandparents that had felt the effect of the Great Depression and Great Grandparents who had gone through the Civil War and Reconstruction in the South. I have only now after the age of 50 and the loss of both parents truly learned not only to understand the trait but to appreciate it. Thank God for our pack-rats without them these pages would be empty and part of our heritage and who we are gone and lost forever.

Now I know for a fact, since this seems to be an inherited trait that nothing has ever been thrown away in this family. It has just been divided for safekeeping. As our ancestors passed away they gave treasures in legacy to trusted children. Some one out there has a Family Bible, a picture, a letter tucked away in a safe place, that needs to be added to these pages.

PACK-RATS COME FORWARD AND BE COUNTED

We no longer have to hoard the originals.  We have the technology now, to make digital copies of ancestral artifacts for the entire family to enjoy, share and pass down to our children's children. Even if they have no interest in them now, someday they will be over 50. Someday they will be without parents and wonder who they are and where they came from. Words like legacy and heritage will mean something and hopefully they will find some answers and comfort here.

I am compiling the Scrapbooks by surname for now - I may need to later divide them into families as more contributions of photos, letters and other documents are made. Due to file size and space the photos are in low resolution thumb nails for web viewing. If any of you wish higher resolution for reproduction, Please email me. I can send them via email attachment or snail mail a CD.

These pages are under construction. I have added a few pictures to get them started. I hope to have them complete with all my photos and data by mid August '06. Please check back periodically. I have 400+ pages of letters and documents and over 100 photos, which will take time to scan in and scale for web posting. Thanks for your patience!

Note: The Scrapbooks do not contain all of the family artifacts or information contained in the database.  Many other items are found with the individual(s) they are associated with in the database.
